Rules and Regulations

In an effort to make everyone's experience in Axis more enjoyable, we're instituting new policies regarding how information is posted on the forums and across the website and establishing forum moderators to enforce these new policies:

To ensure that gaming related talk and news is prominent on the site, we've excluded "Off Topic" and "B/S/T" forum posts from the "New/Latest Threads" and "Hot Threads" modules. Everyone will still be able to post as they were in those forums, but the threads themselves will be excluded from the "Threads" modules on the homepage and the forum page.

The Mods will be moving posts, locking posts, issuing warnings and making sure posts and authors stay on point to improve the quality of the forums. Please give them your respect and understand that their job is not an easy one. If your post is moved, modified or hidden, please contact one of them and they will explain why.

We have new forum rules that are clearly described below. These are all common sense. Post useful information and positive discussions about Axis and gaming in general. Joking around is fine and encouraged, but do not go overboard. Cursing in good fun is fine, but again do not go overboard. It's very simple – do NOT post spam, troll, resurrect old posts or disrespect other members. Without further ado, here is the new policy:

Axis Forum and Website Rules
We take great pride in our global and thriving community—it’s part of what makes AXIS a great place for gamers. Our site rules focus on mutual respect and having fun. We invite you to participate, give feedback and have your say. Before participating in discussion on our site, please familiarize yourself with the guidelines below. Please note that the following set of guidelines apply across the site—this means anywhere you can publicly express your opinion, including but not limited to comments, forums and profiles.

Please Do:
1. Post threads in the correct forum or sub forum. Use the “off topic” sub forums for non-game related discussion.
2. Get to know your fellow members. Help out new users with any questions, be active, and share your feedback. Remember no question is a stupid question regardless if you think so or not. Don't be an ass, just help them.
3. Please respect your fellow members and officers. We are all part of a community and you are expected to treat all users in a respectful manner.
4. Before posting a new thread, please do a search and check recent threads from the past few days. There is a good chance the topic has already been started. Duplicate threads will be locked and a link to the original thread will be posted.
5. Please stay on track! We have the “Off Topic” section for random, fun topics. If you get carried away in an unrelated thread, the Mods may step in to steer the thread back to topic.

Please Do NOT:
1. Spam. These threads will be disabled and users warned and/or banned, depending on the frequency of their actions.
2. Encourage personal attacks, call out another user and/or sabotage a user’s thread. This includes: making disparaging comments about an author or using the comments or ratings system to sabotage or defame an author. If a thread becomes personal or heated towards a user, reviewer, officer or staff member, the thread will be locked/removed. Further disciplinary actions may be taken depending on overall behavior.
3. Post any threads discussing or linking to piracy or warez sites. You can private message about these, but we do not want to have the possibility of having that come back to bite us.
4. Go extremely off the topic of the thread in question. We understand the forums are a fun place and a little off topic chat never hurt anyone, but the mods may step in to steer the direction if needed.
5. Discuss or link to offensive topics, such as pornography, violent themes, sexism, racism or other discriminatory subjects, even as a “joke”. Users doing so will receive a warning and further action if needed.
6. Post or solicit any kind of racism, flaming, trolling, harassment, discrimination of any kind, or behavior deemed to be intentionally abusive or inappropriate. Behavior of this kind will result in an immediate warning, followed by temporary disablement. Further violations can escalate to bans.
7. Create forum titles in all capital letters. Do not use one word titles. Make titles reflect the topic of the post.
8. Solicit for any kind of material support, donations, aid, etc. While they may be well intentioned, such requests are sure to attract the wrong kind of attention. Due to the high risk of scamming, such threads are frowned upon and will be locked and disabled without further notice.

Our Warning and Forum Ban Policy
We will temporarily or permanently ban members from the forums for repeatedly breaching our code of conduct. This includes trolling or any other form of consistently disruptive behavior. Please note that should your disruptive behavior continue, your account may be banned. A warning will be issued for the first minor infraction. A second infraction earns a 7 day ban from all aspects of Axis. A third infraction earns a permanent ban from AXIS. AXIS staff reserves the right to issue any punishment based on the severity of the infraction. These may be harsh, but we do not tolerate any childish behavior.
